The game against Cheltenham Town was the final League One contest of the season and the last match to be watched by fans in the old Broadway Road stand.

The stand was built in the early 1970s with money won in the Ford Sporting League, but it was to be demolished that summer to make way for a new North Stand.

The game was won 2-1 with goals from Deane Smalley and Lewis Alessandra.

Athletic played seven years with only three sides to the ground, however, the new North Stand opened in 2015 to fans delight.
