Manager John Sheridan felt his side lacked energy in yesterday’s 1-0 defeat against Bristol Rovers.
Ellis Harrison scored the only goal in the final 15 minutes of the game and Sheridan admitted he was disappointed with yesterday’s game.
He said: "I didn’t think we really got going in the game. We had possession of the ball but we didn’t go anywhere with it until we played with a bit of urgency after they scored.
“We got them on the back foot and created one or two problems but I felt the performance was very lethargic and far to slow for me.
“I don’t know how he’s ended up getting it in the back of the net because we had plenty of men behind the ball but we didn’t communicate or organise.
“I’m disappointed because I would have liked a point, whether we deserved it I don’t know but I just felt we were flat all over the pitch.
“I think one or two of our lads went out there thinking we were safe and that’s the way the performance looked for me and it shouldn’t be like that.
“I would have liked to be on the front foot a lot more, excited me a bit more and it just wasn’t to be today.
“I feel I’m being harsh but I just wanted to get something from the game because I think if we got a point we would have been definitely been safe.”
However, with two games of the season to play, Sheridan admitted he wants to finish the season in style.
“I don’t want to be hard on them,” he commented. “The lads have been tremendous to get where we are so now we have a home game and it would be good to finish it off against Rochdale in a derby.
“Our home form has been excellent so hopefully we can take it into the game and get the result we want.”
