John Sheridan is gearing his side up for the final friendly of the pre-season campaign this evening when Oldham Athletic take on a Manchester United XI.
Speaking to iFollow Latics, the gaffer said he was pleased with how preparations have gone so far.
"Pre-season is all about getting ready for the first game and I’ve been happy with how it’s been going.
"The players should all be wanting to be ready and have the best chance to get picked for the first game."
"Technically, Manchester United are going to be very good, I’m not sure what team they’ll put out but it will be a good game for us.
"Obviously it’s a bit close to the first league game than I’d like, but it’s another game for us to have a run out and a lot of players will get 45 minutes and it’ll be a chance for one or two of the younger lads to get a run out as well."
