Paul Green believes there is a good togetherness in the squad ahead of the season opener against Oxford United.
The experienced midfielder, who signed a one-year contract extension in the summer, believes the manager has recruited well over the summer and the players have gelled well.
He said: “All the lads that have come in are great characters and they have taken to us all really and we’ve taken to them.
“There is a good atmosphere in the changing room, it’s what you want and it showed last year with a good dressing room you can do anything.
“Since the gaffer came in, he turned it around so hopefully we can carry that form on to this season.
“There is a feel good factor in that dressing room so come Saturday, we are looking forward to getting three points under our belt.”
Oxford United are the visitors tomorrow afternoon in the opening fixture of the league campaign.
“It’s going to be tough,” admitted Green. “They have lost a few players and brought a few in so I’m not too sure what to expect from them.
“It will be edgy because neither of us will want to lose but we are confident, especially at home, that we can get a result.”
Asked if he had a message for supporters, Green responded: “Just be like you are last season.
“Stick by us, it was a great atmosphere at the end of the season and they are an extra man on that field sometimes.”
