Winger Ryan McLaughlin wants to put things right on Saturday as his side travel to Walsall on Saturday.
Latics lost their opening game of the season last week and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday but McLaughlin wants to put right the wrongs.
He said: “Everyone realises that the performance on Saturday was not good enough at times but on Wednesday we could take a lot of positives from the game.
“We were against a Championship side and I feel we should have won the game. We just need to look at the positives and take it into the second league game on Saturday and go into that hoping to get three points.
“We know Walsall well, they like to pass it around and we have done our homework on them so hopefully we can get the three points.”
McLaughlin has found himself playing in a more advanced role recently and has excelled.
“I enjoy it,” he commented. “I have played that role in the past couple of years and switch to full back.
“I like getting on the ball and run at defenders and that is my strongest attribute. Hopefully I can keep doing that.”
The players will be backed by the travelling Latics and McLaughlin is thankful for their support.
“The fans pay a lot of money going to home games but especially away games,” he said.
“We really appreciate their support and we hope to put on a good performance for them and give them something to smile about on their way back to Oldham.”
