Striker Eoin Doyle is excited to start his Oldham Athletic career.
The 29-year-old signed on a loan deal until January 1 on deadline day and he cannot wait to get going.
He said: “I’m delighted to come here. When I got the phone call I was excited to come and I hope I can contribute, get a few goals and help the team out.”
Doyle admitted manager John Sheridan was a key reason why he made the move.
“He rang me and when I got the phone call it made me even more excited to join the club,” he commented.
“Hopefully I can play my part and do well for him.”
Doyle is already familiar with two players in particular, Ollie Banks and Dan Gardner, after he enjoyed a spell with them at Chesterfield.
“They are both good lads and I enjoyed my time with them,” he said.
“It’s always nice to have a friendly face in the dressing room, especially in the first couple of days, so I will be sitting beside those tomorrow.”
