Oldham Athletic duo Johny Placide and Dan Gardner visited St Pauls Primary School this week to support the school’s programme which is currently being delivered at the school by the Oldham Athletic Community Trust team.
OACT coaches have been delivering PE lessons in the school since September so the visit provided the children from year one and two a fantastic opportunity to show professional footballers some of their own skills and gain some advice from the experts.
The afternoon saw the pair answer questions on the life of a football before turning their hand at management as they took charge of teams for an indoor football tournament. On the day it was Placide who came out on top as both of his teams made it through to the final.
The OACT schools programme works with over 1,000 primary school pupils per week delivering a variety of different sports and promoting healthy lifestyle values.
