Byrne Confident Ahead Of Saturday’s Game

15 December 2017

Midfielder Jack Byrne believes Oldham Athletic can beat anybody in this division when they are on their game.

The 21-year-old, who netted two last week against Northampton Town, believes the players in the team are good enough to beat anybody in Sky Bet League One.

He said: “I’ve had to adapt my game to the league. I’ve never played in League One before and I didn’t know what to expect when I came here.

“Richie has made it very easier for me because of the way we play and the way we set up so I’m happy and hope it continues.

“If we play well and play like we are playing on Saturday against Doncaster Rovers then we will beat them and we will beat anybody in this league.

“We can’t affect how they are going to play or line up but we can us. If we turn up on the day then we can beat anybody.”

The fans are expected to travel in their numbers to the game and Byrne had positive words to say about them.

“The fans have been great since I’ve been here,” he commented.

“Going back to the Fleetwood game, I can’t remember how many they brought but there were loads there and then we went to Bristol in the lashing rain on a Tuesday night and they were excellent.

“They will be there on Saturday and hopefully we can repay them with another win.”
