Yesterday’s goalscorer Josh Law described the 1-0 victory over Gillingham as a ‘massive win’.
The full back/midfielder scored the only goal of the game on 39 minutes courtesy of a 20 yard free kick and he was delighted to grab the win.
He said: "It’s a massive win. We knew before it was a must win and we’ve managed to get it so hopefully we can push on from here.
“When a new manager comes in, every unconsciously lifts their game by 10 or 20% because it’s a fresh start and everyone is playing for places.
"The manager has been there, done it and knows this club very well. It’s a good start for him so hopefully we can kick on for him.”
Law’s free kick was his second league goal of the season and his third in all competitions.
“I do practise the free kicks, maybe not as much as I should but I have always took them wherever I’ve been,” he commented.
“It was nice to pop up with the goal and get a few more before the end of the season.”
The fans sang their appreciation at the final whistle and Law sang the praises of the supporters.
“I think they saw the work rate from us today and we put everything on the line for them,” he said.
“That’s all the fans want, someone who is going to work hard for them, fight for the badge and I thought we did that so long may it continue.”
