Manager John Sheridan hopes to recreate Tuesday night’s atmosphere as Bradford City visit on Saturday.
Over 7,000 fans packed into SportsDirect.com Park against Peterborough United midweek and they watched Athletic record a 2-0 victory.
Whilst the manager admits Bradford will pose a different threat, he wants to recreate the great atmosphere from Tuesday.
He said: "It’s a good game, I like games like this. They are going to bring a big following and I really like Stuart McCall. He was a good player and he’s a good manager.
“I like him as a lad as well and it will be a really good game for us because it will test us.
“They are going for the play offs and maybe even the automatic places and they will have over 2,000 here so they are the types of games you want to play in.
“We’ve just had a positive result ourselves against a good team so we go into the game feeling as though we can win it.”
Latics have recorded two clean sheets and two victories in Sheridan’s opening fixtures but the manager is keen to remain grounded.
“I don’t get carried away,” he admitted. “There are still loads of points available to play for and we keep our feet on the ground.
“We are looking to improve, I like us to play good football and be good on the eye but I want us to win games.
“I want to keep the players grounded because we are still in the bottom four but until we get out of that position, I won’t take my foot off the pedal.”
Looking ahead, the January transfer window shuts next week and the manager hopes to strengthen his squad.
“It’s important we have bodies in the club ready for the run in and that’s what I’m going to try and do,” he said.
"I’m going to get us covered in all areas. It will make my side difficult to pick but I think we need bodies and strength in depth for the run in.”
