John Sheridan has bolstered his squad with the addition of full-back Rob Hunt.
The 22-year-old signed a three year contract at the club yesterday, following a move from Brighton and Hove Albion.
"He’s a good player, a good lad, wants to come to Oldham, he loved his time when he was here and he did well and he’ll be a good player for us." Sheridan said.
"I’m chuffed we’ve got him, especially getting him on a permanent [deal].
"Full credit to the chairman for sorting the deal out, he’ll only make us better and stronger because he’s an excellent young player."
The manager has also spoken about his plans to further strengthen his squad before the start of the new Sky Bet League One campaign.
"We’ll sort out the keeper situation but I think there’s more room for possibly another striker or attack minded player.
"I would like a good defensive midfielder, when I’m looking at things and what we probably need at this moment in time."
Latics are next in action on Tuesday, July 18 against Curzon Ashton at the Tameside Stadium (7:45pm kick off).
