Oldham Athletic Community Trust will be supporting the launch of the Nike Ordem V match ball by showcasing it across their Premier League Kicks project sessions in the coming days.
Lucky participants across five OACT Kicks projects will be amongst the first people in the country to use the footballs.
The start of the 2017-18 season will see the introduction of the Nike Ordem V, marking Nike’s 18th season as official ball supplier for the Premier League.
Extensively tested by some of the world’s leading players in its development phase, the Ordem V is a performance-orientated piece of design that will also be used in Serie A TIM and La Liga.
A unique construction distributes pressure evenly across the ball to ensure an accurate strike whilst Aerotrac grooves in the surface help ensure a stable flight through the air. In addition, graphics are printed onto the surface using a 3-D ink that creates a textured feel for enhanced grip and feel.
Football is becoming ever-faster, and the Ordem V is designed to keep pace with this. Its Distorted Motion Graphic flickers as the ball rotates, helping players catch sight of the ball quicker and so make rapid decisions as they react to the game around them.
Martin Vose, OACT Community Manager added: “We're delighted to be a part of this international launch of the new Premier League football for the 2017-18 season. Through our partnership with the Premier League we are able to offer our local community various unique opportunities and this is just another example of this.”
