Club Director walks back to back marathons for Prostate Cancer UK

12 June 2017

Club Director, Simon Brooke completed two days of Jeff Stelling’s March for Men over the weekend.

In total, Simon walked over 55 miles raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK.

On Friday, the group set off from SportsDirect.com park, passing Rochdale AFC before finishing up at Accrington Stanley’s Wham Stadium.

The following day, Simon also took part in day nine of the March for Men, taking him from Blackburn Rovers to Blackpool FC via Preston North End and AFC Fylde.

Speaking about the challenge, Simon said: "It was a tough, but inspirational two days. Walking with Prostate Cancer survivors and terminally ill men kept the pain from my feet in check.

"Getting up for day two was hard and the near 30 mile slog in the rain very nearly broke me, but it was those guys and Jeff that got me through. For Jeff to plough on through 15 days is unbelievable.

"Thank you for all the support I’ve had from Latics fans both on the walk and in sponsorship."

So far, Simon has raised over £860, to donte please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simon-brooke3 and follow the on screen instructions.

Well done, Simon!
