Striker Tope Obadeyi is delighted to be back with his teammates in pre-season after signing a contract extension with the club.
The 27-year-old signed for the club in January and made a number of appearances, scoring two goals.
Speaking about his return, Obadeyi said: "I’m happy to be back. I was offered a deal towards the end of the season by the manager and it was sorted out. It just took a while because I was away on holiday but now I’m happy to put pen to paper.
"I know everyone here now and the way we finished the season was a massive positive for me. It’s a positive that the gaffer is here as well so it was an easy decision to make.
"John is a man of few words but he knows me and I know him. He wants me here and wants me to stay so I’m happy."
Experience has been added to the squad with the additions of Craig Davies and Dan Gardner but Obadeyi is relishing the battle.
"Competeition is always healthy," he admitted. "I know Craig Davies well, we both come from Birmingham, so I know he’s a good player.
"He is experienced in the Championship and in this division as well so he is going to be a great addition. It will keep everyone on their toes."
Obadeyi was in for the start of pre-season today and he summed up how he felt from the day.
"I expected it to be harder than it was," he commented. "It was only a session to get the legs going again I think and the rest of the weeks are going to be tougher.
"It’s pre-season and the aim is to get fit for the upcoming season."
