Connor Ripley was on hand to coach and take questions from children at Hey with Zion Primary School in Lees yesterday.
Oldham Athletic’s number one taught pupils in year four ball control and took part in mini matches.
After the games, it was back to the classroom for the prolific shot-stopper, who answered questions which the class had prepared for him.
Speaking to Latics Player HD, Ripley said: “I remember being a kid and getting a footballer coming in and playing with us, it was great and I enjoyed it, now it’s my turn to do that.
“With the kids, they need something, especially when they’re at school, hopefully they become footballers as well.
“I always had a ball in my hand, always playing football with my mates. I understand that they’re excited and I’m excited to play football with them.”
The visit was arranged through Oldham Athletic Community Trust’s school programme, which sees OACT coaches deliver a wide range of sports in primary schools across the borough.
