Youth Team Aiming To Extend Winning Run

Oldham Athletic’s Youth Team manager Tony Philliskirk is hoping to extend his side’s winning streak to 11 consecutive league games tomorrow.

The young Blues host Lincoln City U18s in the EFL Youth Alliance North East Division at Chapel Road. 

Latics’ are currently top of the division by three points, following 10 wins in a row.

Philliskirk told the clubs official website he is enjoying the current situation” “We’ve always been the chaser, all season, we’re now at the top at and there to be shot at. Now it’s a totally different mentality.

“It’s going to be a tough game, they’re a strong physical team who we know will be coming here with the intention of taking on the team that’s at the top.

“Seven games to go, it’s in our hands and if you’d said that to me three months ago I would have probably laughed at you, but it’s all credit to the players.

“We’ve worked very hard as a group, they’ve taken onboard everything we’ve asked them to do and  at the moment we’re open to all challenges.” 

Kick off at Chapel Road is 11am tomorrow (Friday 10th March).
