Oldham Athletic were saddened to learn of the recent death of former defender Alan Williams, aged 78.
Alan, father of 1980's legend Gary Williams, died in Bristol last week following a battle with Dementia.
Alan made 172 appearances for Athletic scoring 9 goals in seasons 1961 to 1965.
Alan's funeral will take place at South Bristol Crematorium on Thursday followed by a wake at Bristol City FC.
The directors, players and officials of Oldham Athletic send deepest condolences to his son Gary who played for Latics between 1985-1991.
