On loan midfielder Jack Byrne is looking to continue building on Oldham Athletic's momentum despite there being no game this weekend.
Latics were originally scheduled to play Southend United this weekend, but the match has been postponed due to international call ups.
However, the midfielder who scored two in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United u21s in the Checkatrade Trophy is looking to keep up the positive performances.
After the match on Tuesday evening, Byrne said: “We said ‘look it’s a big chance for us to go and play at Wembley’ and that’s massive for anyone in their career if they can do that and I’m not cup tied for this competition so it’s decent.
“We’ve got a couple of days off and we get to see our families and but we want to keep the momentum going.
“When you’re winning games it’s always nice to keep ticking over and ticking over, I know we lost the last two but before that we were unbeaten in seven.
“The break won’t do us any harm because it was hectic up until the Scunthorpe game and a couple of days rest now won’t do us any harm but because we’re playing so well we just want to keep that going.”
