Latics Back Non-League Day

Oldham Athletic Football Club are encouraging fans to support the local non-league clubs this weekend.

With the fixture against Bury postponed, many supporters may feel at a loose end come 3pm on Saturday.

However, Non-League Day enables fans to support their local non-league teams which are mostly volunteer led and community based.

Arranged to coincide with the international break, the  it is the perfect opportunity to get a football fix.

This Saturday a number of local sides will be in action and there will also be discounts for Oldham Athletic season card holders at a few of the fixtures.

Local matches on Saturday, October 7:

Curzon Ashton v Harrogate Town - Tameside Stadium, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 9HG
The Nash are on a good run of six games unbeaten and are just one win away from the play-off positions. Saturday’s atmosphere at the Tameside Stadium is set to be electric as Curzon have given out over 5,000 free tickets to schools in the are for the game against Harrogate Town.

Prices are:
Adult: £8*
Concession (over 65 or student): £3*
U16: Free*

Stalybridge Celtic v Matlock Town - Bower Fold, Stalybridge, SK15 2RT
It’s a tough test for Staybridge this weekend, they host Matlock Town who are currently sixteenth, five points and five places above Celtic. A win would take the Evo-Stick North Premier side up to 18th.

Mossley AFC v Skelmersdale United - Seel Park, Mossley, OL5 0ES
The Lillywhites are in FA Trophy action this weekend. It’s a big occasion for Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison’s side with good prize money up for grabs and a place in the next round of the competition which they reached the final of at Wembley in 1980.
