Oldham Athletic have teamed up with Knight Scientific to test the performance levels of the first team squad.
Players have had their blood tested to identify symptoms of underperformance, overtraining and infection.
The test is also being used by Premier League football teams across the UK as well as Olympians and triathletes.
Fitness coach John Harbin said: “It is a valuable tool in assisting the players and enabling us to know how they are performing and who is capable of more.
“I have worked closely with Knight Scientific before and they provide us with expert advice in sports science.”
