MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Scunthorpe United

27 October 2017

Oldham Athletic face Scunthorpe United in Sky Bet League One tomorrow afternoon, 3pm kick off.

Latics are currently on a seven game unbeaten run and they will be looking to make that eight tomorrow afternoon.

Since Richie Wellens has taken over, Latics have won five and drawn two in all competitions.

The home side bounced back from conceding two late goals against MK Dons on Tuesday night as they beat Bury in the final minute of the game.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway netted in the 93rd minute to win the game after Eoin Doyle had earlier netted his 10th goal of the season.

Scunthorpe United won their first game in a month last weekend as they beat Peterborough United 2-1.

A run of four defeats and one draw was halted at the weekend as the visitors look to end a run of three away games without a win.

The visitors added Simon Church to their squad last weekend and he won a penalty to help them win last weekend's game against Posh.

Conor Townsend is doubtful for the game whilst Sam Mantom is expected to be ruled out through injury.

Jonathan Margetts and Luke Williams are out of the game.

Courtney Duffus is the only injury doubt for Oldham Athletic as he continues to recover from illness. Ryan McLaughlin remains out with a hamstring injury.

On tomorrow’s game, he said: "I feel as though the supporters that are coming to the ground believe in what we are trying to do, and there’s a bit of a feel good factor coming back to the club’

“No matter what we can still score in the last minute, it happened at Blackburn.

“We tried for so long to break them down, it looked like it wasn’t going to be our day, then Queensy goes and scores late on.

“It’s given the lads confidence and belief. Belief is a massive word. If we start believing in what we are doing it can be a snowball affect, it starts getting bigger and bigger.”

Odds

Oldham Athletic have been priced at 13/8 favourites for tomorrow’s game against Scunthorpe United.

The visitors can also be found at 13/8 whilst the draw is 12/5.

Eoin Doyle is the favourite to open the scoring tomorrow at 5/1.
