Oldham Athletic youth team beat York City 1-0 at the weekend to register their second win of the season.
Ned Dry scored the only goal of the game on 11 minutes and youth team boss Tony Philliskirk was delighted with his players following the win.
He said: "We were very good and played similar to how we did against Burton Albion the other week.
"We took our chances and maybe could have been three or four up before half time. As happens in those games, York put us under a lot of pressure late in the game but we defended really well.
"We won key tackles and key headers at good times and I can't remember the goalkeeper having to make any significant saves so that's testament to the defence.
"We played some really good football, we switched play really well and dominated the game.
"When the team play one, two or three touch, we look a very good team. I thought we were worthy winners in the end.
"I was really pleased with how we approached the game. As coaches, it's pleasing to see that what we have worked on in the week is taken into the game by the players. It was a very well deserved three points."
