Mixed Emotions For Bryan After Fleetwood Town Match

10 September 2017

Oldham Athletic’s Kean Bryan scored an early contender for goal of the season against Fleetwood Town yesterday but the midfielder was disappointed it did’t turn out to be the winner.

The strike on 55 minutes put Latics 2-1 up at Highbury Stadium but the Cod Army converted a penalty in the dying moments of the game to make it 2-2.

Speaking after the match, the midfielder on loan from Manchester City said: “We came away with my goal meaning nothing so it’s just very frustrating.

“It could have been our first win of the season, I thought we played well throughout the game.

“It was great to get a goal but it means nothing with the draw and the point so it’s just unlucky for us I think.”

Despite the poor start to the season, Bryan believes recent performances have improved and have warranted more.

“We’ve got to dust ourselves off now, we played well against Charlton [Athletic] before the sending off and we’ve played well against Fleetwood [Town] and I think we definitely deserved more than one point out of those two games so hopefully on Tuesday we can get the three points.

Oldham Athletic travel to Bristol Rovers next on Tuesday, September 12, 7:45pm kick off.
