Match preview for Bristol Rovers vs Oldham Athletic on 12 Sep 17

12 September 2017

Oldham Athletic will travel to Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night for their Sky Bet League One fixture.

Latics will be looking to build on their first point of the season which they picked up away to Fleetwood Town on Saturday.  Bristol will go in to the game full of confidence after a 2-1 victory over Walsall last time out.

Despite leading the game twice, Oldham could only manage a point against Fleetwood after a last minute penalty for the home side. Craig Davies and Kean Bryan with the Latics goals.

Oldham manager John Sheridan had this to say ahead of tomorrows game: “We’ve shown in the last two games, against Charlton, who I think will be up there, and Fleetwood who are a good footballing side, that we can match teams, we just have to believe in ourselves.

“It’s difficult when your not winning but the most important thing is to stick together as a group, try to get through it and hopefully we turn a corner and we go to a tough game against Bristol Rovers believing we can get our first win.”

Oldham may have Ryan Flynn and Paul Green available after injuries, Courtney Duffus is still unavailable due to illness. Full-back Rob Hunt is a doubt for the game but manager John Sheridan will be confident with the depth of his squad after last week’s signings.

The teams last encounter resulted in a 1-0 defeat for Oldham. Ellis Harrsion scored the only goal of the game for Rovers at the Memorial ground. Bristol Rovers are favourites for the match, they are priced at 7/10 with Sky Bet. Oldham Athletic are 17/4 to pick up their first win of the season, whilst Rovers forward Billy Bodin is favourite for first goal scorer.
