Nazon Happy With Double But Rues Missed Late Chance

22 April 2018

Striker Duckens Nazon was delighted to net two equalises but rued his missed chance at the end to secure all three points.

Nazon, on loan from Wolves, saw a late effort blocked in front of goal which would have almost certainly secured Latics maximum points.

He said: “I really enjoyed the game because I scored twice today and I’m happy but I’m disappointed because I could have scored another one at the end.

“I think we showed a great attitude because we were one goal down, then came back, then went down again close to the end of the game, then we came back again but a point is a point.

“We keep going until the end of the season and pick up one more win and one draw and secure our status.”

That’s Nazon’s sixth goal for Oldham Athletic since his loan move in January. “I’m really happy and I want more,” he admitted.

“I’m a striker, I came here to score goals and help Oldham Athletic stay in League One and that’s the most important thing.”

Over 400 fans made the journey down to support Athletic and Nazon was appreciative of those.

“Thank you to the fans that came today because it’s really far and we are going to give the maximum for you to stay in League One,” he said.

There is now two huge home games coming up for Latics against Southend United and Doncaster Rovers.

“These two games, we need four points minimum,” Nazon said.

“The lads are ready and we are going to give our maximum and more to get the points.”
