Oldham Athletic are delighted to retain their Family Excellence award for the third year consecutive year.
Created in 2007, the EFL Family Excellence Award recognises the outstanding experience provided by clubs for young fans and families, as well as their efforts to enhance the match day experience.
The club were ranked 10th in Sky Bet League One and 30th in the English Football League demonstrating the commitment we have to engage with young fans and families.
The areas of assessment were first impressions, social media, travel, stadium vicinity, retail, refreshments, inside the stadia, staff engagement and friendliness.
An EFL spokesman said: “It is credit to Oldham Athletic that their efforts over recent years are now bearing fruit with an engaging family experience.
“The programme of activities is well put together and well executed while the refreshment experience strong.
“There are some minor improvement opportunities but overall it is clear that the club is enacting a plan to engage families and that, on the basis of these two visits, a strong level of engagement is being delivered.”
Chief Executive Mark Moisley added: “This is an excellent achievement and just reward for the hard work that has gone into this.
“We have come a long way in the last three years in this area and everyone should be congratulated as this is very much a team effort. That said it would be very remiss not to highlight the terrific endeavour shown by Community Manager Martin Vose and his team, and in particular Wendy Noble, who continues to lead the way with her enthusiasm and desire to make this the best Family club in the League.
“Further significant improvements are already planned for the Family Stand for next season, as we continue to try to offer an unforgettable matchday experience for our younger supporters who are the future of the club.”
