Bunn’s Side Ready To Go

2 August 2018

Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn is pleased with how the build-up to the new Sky Bet League Two season has gone.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the manager said he is looking forward to getting started this weekend.

“We’ve had a good preseason,” he said.

“We’ve certainly had some good performances and some good results too. The players look fit and ready to go.

“We’ve tried to implement change and I think everyone is taking it on board.

“There are smiles around the place again and everyone’s working hard towards our goal. So things are looking good.”

The manager praised his team’s togetherness as well as the atmosphere around the club.

He believes his side should be aiming high this season.

“We want to get out of this league as quickly as possible,” explained Bunn.

“Hopefully we get off to a terrific start. There is a lot of optimism around the place, and like I said, the players are bright and bubbly. Hopefully that’ll put us in good standing.”

The former Oldham striker told iFollow Latics he can’t wait to be on the touchline at Boundary Park for this weekend’s match against MK Dons.

He also emphasised just how proud he will be to lead Oldham and he is aware of what a positive result can do for the town.

“I’ve witnessed that last year, he said.”

“If we can increase the noise at home, it would make this place somewhere special again, and that would be a great achievement.

“I just hope the supporters get behind us.”
