MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic VS Mk Dons

3 August 2018

Oldham Athletic kick off the 2018/2019 Sky Bet League Two campaign at home to MK Dons tomorrow (3pm).

Frankie Bunn’s side come into the game after a positive pre-season with a squad capable of challenging the division's very best.

He hopes the feel-good factor around the squad will have an impact on the pitch.

“There are smiles around the place again and everyone’s working hard towards our goal. So, things are looking good.” Bunn said.

Tomorrows opponents have also had a change in manager with Paul Tisdale the new voice on the touchline following their relegation from League One.

They have brought in several players including former Bournemouth defender Baily Cargill and Robbie Simpson, a face familiar to the Oldham fans.

Simpson was at Oldham between 2011-2013 and scored at Anfield in the FA Cup in 2012.

He was also part of the FA Cup run in 2013 when Latics reached the fifth round.

Oldham could potentially have several debutants on show tomorrow which includes Jose Baxter who has trained with the squad this week following an injury.

The only long-term absentee to the squad is Ousmane Fane with Bunn hoping to have a full complement for tomorrows fixture.

Roy Butterworth and Mike Leyland will be on commentary on the iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
