Bunn Praises Fans For Support

5 August 2018

Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn was full of praise for the crowd at Boundary Park after the season opener with MK Dons.

Despite the defeat, Bunn was pleased with the support his side received throughout the game.

“First of all, can I just thank the supporters because I thought they were absolutely terrific.” Bunn said.

“I think they've seen a little bit of passion from our team and I think they followed it up on the terraces, they were quite passionate today they dug in with us.”

There were almost 5,000 in attendance at Boundary Park and with a sold-out crowd going down to Forest Green next week, Bunn encourages the fans to stick with the team.

“The support was fantastic, they've just got to be patient with us and stay with us and let's see if we can get this club back to where we want to.”

Bunn also took positives from the performance praising the determination his side showed after going two goals down.

“The way the team responded and got back into the game is such a positive,” he commented.

“Our fitness levels, again a positive and second half we've done everything but score, we got in good areas but that little bit of quality in the final third was just missing.

“Against a team that will be there or there abouts with a lot of quality players and a big squad to choose from, but we matched them in a lot of areas of the field today except in that final third.”

When asked what type of performance fans could expect next week, Bunn simply replied; “More of the same with a bit more quality.”
