MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Derby County

14 August 2018

Oldham Athletic host Championship side Derby County at Boundary Park in the Carabao Cup tonight (7:45pm kick off).

Latics last faced Derby back in 2013 in the same competition and the visitors ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion.

Oldham picked up their first point of the season away at Forest Green Rovers and will be hoping to progress to the second round and a possibility of facing a Premier League club.

However, Bunn realises how tough a test tonight’s opponents will be.

“They're a top Championship club that perhaps should be in the Premier League with the facilities and the structure of the club and the players they have.”

Latics will again be without several key players and Bunn will most likely have the same side that travelled to Forest Green Rovers.

Derby will be hoping to bounce back from their defeat at home to Leeds United on Saturday evening.

Frank Lampard’s Rams went down 4-1 at Pride Park to the Yorkshire side and he will be hoping for a response from his team.

Derby have been busy in the transfer market with a big squad to choose from so changes are expected from Lampard.

Last season’s League One top goal scorer Jack Marriott could make his debut for the Rams.

Oldham Athletic have been priced at 4/1 this evening to beat Derby County within 90 minutes on Sky Bet.

Supporters are reminded that they can pay on the turnstile for tonight's match.

Here are the ticket prices:

Adults: £15
Over 65: £8
Student (with ID): £8
Under 18: £5
Under 12: £2

Please note that the Jimmy Frizell stand will only be open to disabled supporters.

Ian Cheeseman and Roy Butterworth will be on commentary on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
