Bunn Looking To Build On Unbeaten Run

23 August 2018

Oldham Athletic manager Frankie Bunn is targeting a win during this weekend's trip to Morecambe FC in front of a huge following of Latics fans.

Potentially 1770 fans could be making the trip to the Globe Arena and Bunn wants to bring the three points back for the supporters.

“We're going for three points, we don’t want it to become a banana skin and football has a habit of kicking you when you least expect it, so we have to be our guard.” Bunn said.

“They’re on the back of a good win so they’ll be a bit more confident and it looks like they’ll try and play.

“They have bright frontmen and midfielders who want to get on the ball, so we'll adapt accordingly and try to nullify them, but we’ll prepare properly as usual and hopefully we’ll be on it Saturday.”

Bunn has had to deal with a lot of injury problems since he took over in charge and he’s now beginning to implement his style onto the players more as the games go on.

“I think we're getting better each week, we had a team in mind during pre-season which ran really well then we picked up a few injuries at the worst time 24 hours before a game.” He commented.

“That wasn't easy to deal with, but we’ve come through that period now and we're better for it.”

Latics were without Sam Surridge and Giles Coke during the midweek trip to Yeovil Town to which Bunn provided an update on as well as news on Cameron Dummigans recovery.

Surridge remains a doubt, but Bunn believes he shouldn’t be out for too long.

“Unfortunately, Sam’s going to be another week we think, which is a bit disappointing because we thought we had him back and he felt his hamstring again prior to the game Tuesday.

“Giles was sore from the game Saturday, so we thought it better he rested on Tuesday and we'll assess him again tomorrow.

“Cameron will be two or three weeks away he’s progressing nicely with the physio department; his rehab is going well and hopefully we'll have him back in the next couple of weeks.”

Oldham Atheltic travel to the Globe Arena to take on Morecambe on Saturday, August 25, 3pm kick off.
