The funeral of former Oldham Athletic player and manager Jimmy McIlroy takes place this afternoon.
McIlroy, who passed away last week at the age of 86, made 42 appearances for the club as well as managing the team in the Third Division.
The service, which takes place at Burnley’s Turf Moor stadium at 1:00pm will be attended by Oldham Athletic ambassadors Alan Hardy and Roy Butterworth.
Members of the public are invited to pay their last respects as the funeral cortege leaves the stadium, en-route to Burnley cemetery for a private Burial.
Widely regarded as Burnley’s finest ever player, the Northern Ireland international also spent three years at Oldham Athletic, taking charge of 122 matches from 1965 to 1968.
The club would like to send their condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy at this very sad time.
