Oliver Langford will be the man in charge of Wednesday’s Checkatrade Trophy match away at local rivals Rochdale.
So far this season the referee has issued 40 yellow cards and one red card in 16 games.
Langford last officiated Latics back in April 2015 in a 2-0 defeat away at Crawley Town.
He will be assisted by Akil Howson and Phillip Dermot, whilst Peter Banks will be the fourth official.
