Community Trust To Launch Healthy Hearts Project

7 December 2018

Oldham Athletic Community Trust are delighted to announce details of a brand new initiative coming soon to Oldham, called Healthy Hearts.

The Healthy Hearts project will see OACT deliver CPR training to school children across the borough through one-hour workshops.

Sessions will focus on:

  • CPR training for school children (year 5 & above)
  • Knowing how and where to check your pulse

The Healthy Hearts projects comes as a result of partnership work between OACT and Wigan Athletic Community Trust (WACT), who pioneered the project across Wigan.

The two groups work closely together through the Premier League Primary Stars project, sharing best practice and delivery ideas.

Jack Garside, OACT Primary Stars Lead, commented: “We are excited to work with WACT and bring this project to Oldham, this is an example of partnership work at it’s best.

“The Healthy Hearts project comes on the back of our matchday sensory packs and is a project that is not only life changing, but also potentially lifesaving.

“The initiative will be delivered as part of our ever growing schools programme and demonstrates the wide variety of opportunities that OACT offer schools”

The Healthy Hearts project will commence in early 2019.
