MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Bury

14 December 2018

Oldham Athletic are back at Boundary Park tomorrow as they take on local rivals Bury in the Sky Bet League Two fixture (3pm).

Frankie Bunn’s men are currently five games unbeaten in the league and they’ll be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Rochdale in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night.

Bunn is expecting a tough test this weekend, but one he believes his side is more than a match for.

“It'll be a great game, Bury are a really good outfit with a strong players and some good players.” He said.

“They're flying high at the minute, so it'll be a tough test for us, we're probably going in as underdogs but it's a game we're relishing.

“They'll come and have a go and they're full of confidence as we are, so I'm hoping it'll be a good battle.”

Bunn confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Cameron Dummigan will be missing after he came off injured against Rochdale.

Jonathan Benteke, Jose Baxter, Ousmane Fane and Zeus De La Paz are still also missing due to injury and Ishmael Miller is suspended.

Bunn did say he hopes to have a couple of players back for Saturday’s game, although he wouldn’t specify who in his pre-match interview.

Our opponents this Saturday come into the game also on a five-game unbeaten run in the league.

Over the past week Bury have had a takeover go through and they are currently the top scorers in Sky Bet League Two.

The sides last met in May, playing out a 2-2 draw at Gigg Lane as Latics came from two goals down to earn a point.

In the reverse fixture at Boundary Park, Latics ran out 2-1 winners with Eoin Doyle and a last-minute Aaron Amadi-Holloway goal enough to give Oldham the three points.

Oldham Athletic are priced at 19/10 to beat Bury tomorrow.

Mike Leyland and Roy Butterworth will be on commentary on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
