Oldham Athletic Manager Riche Wellens is calling on supporters to continue to back the team at SportsDirect.com Park this weekend.
Bradford City are the visitors on Saturday and Stuart McCall’s side will be looking to end a run that has seen them lose five in a row.
“It’s not always easy to say that it’s a good time to play them,” said Wellens.
“They’ll be smarting from a home defeat by AFC Wimbledon and they’ll want a reaction.
T”hey’ve made three signings so the team will change and that might give them a lift.
“They’re a very good club, it will be a difficult game but I’m hoping that the atmosphere here will be lifted and will be a bit better than it has been in recent weeks.
“There will be lot of fans here and I’m hoping they can lift our players as well.”
Earlier in the season, Latics picked up a point in the reverse league fixture and the manager hopes his side put in a similar performance.
“Our away game there in the league was a fantastic performance, he said.”
“We went 1-0 down after a couple of minutes through a great strike and the response was fantastic, we played some really good football and for the last half an hour we were camped in their half trying to get the winner.
“It was a really positive performance so we’ll try to repeat that.
“Bradford will bring a lot of fans and hopefully we’ll bring a few extra on top of what we’ve been getting and it’ll be a good atmosphere.
“Every time we have a good atmosphere here we get a good result so hopefully the fans can raise their voices and try and spur us on.”
Oldham Athletic host Bradford City at SportsDirect.com Park on Saturday, February 3, 3pm kick off.
