There is a good atmosphere in the dressing room following yesterday’s win against Bradford City, according to midfielder Ben Pringle.
The midfielder, speaking after yesterday’s 2-1 home win, believes there is a good team spirit amongst the players and they thoroughly deserved the win.
He said: “Everyone was buzzing to get the win. We needed it so the dressing room is good.
“I thought we did well to be fair. It wasn’t going to be pretty throughout the game but I thought we did well in the first half and we needed the second goal.
“It was nervy in the last five minutes but we stuck to it and got the three points.
“To dig in when we knew that they would be putting pressure on in the last five minutes, it is a testament to the whole team to get the win.”
Cameron Dummigan scored a wonder goal to put Latics ahead on 12 minutes. It was a great goal and we needed something like that,” Pringle admitted.
“In the last couple of games we have been getting into the final third but it hasn’t happened for us so to score a goal like that to set us off was good.”
Athletic face a trip to high-flying Blackburn Rovers next week and Pringle believes Latics are more than capable of beating their opponents.
“We have a week to recover and go again,” he said. “We have got the players to play good football on a pitch that allows us to do it.
“It will be a tough test and they are playing well but we can do the other side as well and we can play some good stuff so that’s what we would be looking to do.”
