Nazon Delighted To Get Off The Mark For Latics

11 February 2018

Striker Duckens Nazon was delighted to get off the mark for Oldham Athletic yesterday in the 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.

The striker, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, netted his first of the game midway through the first half as he took it around one, nutmegged another and slotted into the corner.

His second came five minutes before the break as his fierce effort beat David Raya to put Latics two goals ahead at the break.

However, the home side rallied and scored two second half goals but Latics held out for a point.

Speaking after the game, Nazon said: “I am happy because I have scored two goals and that is my first goals for Oldham but I am disappointed with the result because I thought we deserved to win.

“One point against Blackburn is good because they are third in the league and it’s a good point.

“I’m very happy for the team. We are playing to stay in League One and I think this point is important.”

The striker now hopes that he can use the two goals yesterday as a springboard for the rest of the season.

“For a striker, the most important thing is goals and same for the squad,” he commented.

“We haven’t lost in two games now and we have to keep playing like this. Hopefully better times will come.”

2,294 supporters made the trip to Ewood Park and Nazon added: “I was surprised that so many fans came and there was a lot of noise as well.

“They were outstanding today so here is a shoutout to them.”
