JD Williams Team Of The Week

17 March 2018

Oldham Athletic Community Trust would like to welcome Chadderton FC Juniors to SportsDirect.com Park this afternoon that are the JD Williams Team Of The Week for this weekend’s fixture.

CHADDERTON FC JUNIORS

Chadderton FC Juniors is a Community Amateur Sports Club that provides structured coaching and organised football to children and young people in Chadderton and the surrounding communities and offers a seamless route from junior to semi-professional football with Chadderton FC.

The club currently comprises a soccer school for ages four year old upward and teams ranging from under sevens to under 16s and on to youth and semi-professional football at our exit club, Chadderton FC. They have recently been awarded the highly prestigious FA Charter Standard Community Club status in recognition of our recent achievements. The club has an excellent reputation within junior football circles and was voted Manchester FA’s Charter Standard Development Club of the year for 2009/10. They currently have some 250 registered players across all age groups plus the attendees at the soccer school. Each team is managed and coached by at least two adults holding FA accredited coaching qualifications and CRB checked.

The club was formed from humble beginnings in 1992 with one team following the breakup of Collyhurst & Moston JFC and a merger with Chadderton Strikers. The club has grown in size and extended the range of age groups from under seven to under 16 and has on occasion provided football at under 17 and under 18. Our teams play in various mini-soccer and 11-a-side leagues in and around the borough.

THE FUTURE

The club is keen to develop and strengthen the girls side of the club and is actively recruiting for next seasons under 9s, 10s and 11s teams. We are also interested in running a vets team and would like to hear from any interested parties. They are keen to encourage more take up of football from young people in the Asian community and are encouraging older children to undertake the JFO course, and then, cut their coaching teeth by assisting our coaches at the soccer school and helping to organise our football festivals.

We would also like to hear from any interested volunteers looking to get involved in any capacity within the club.

CHADDERTON FC JUNIORS UNDER 11 REDS

The Chadderton Fc Juniors U11 Reds currently play in the EMJFL (East Manchester Junior Football League). The team comprises of a fantastic group of players, some of whom started with the club from the Soccer School. New players who have played for teams in the borough after hearing about how the club is run have joined them. The club focuses on enjoyment and most importantly playing with a smile on your face.

The team is coached by Karl Longworth and Lee Vose who work tirelessly to ensure that training sessions are informative, focused and fun and also that come Saturday and game time no matter whether they win, lose or draw, the team come off the pitch having thoroughly enjoyed themselves and with big smiles on their faces.

The team is performing exceptionally well this season since moving up to nine vs. nine and the work ethic and passion shown from the players is a joy to watch. The team are looking forward to finishing the season off with even more great results.
