It was not to be for South Failsworth Primary School who were defeated 3-0 in the EFL Kids Cup final at Wembley on Sunday, May 27.
A school representing AFC Wimbledon ran out winners but it was an unbelievable achievement from South Failsworth to reach this stage of the competition.
Community Manager Martin Vose said: "For South Failsworth to reach Wembley is a fantastic achievement in its own right.
"This year 15,000 children entered the EFL Kids Cup spread over 1,800 schools, this just demonstrates the outstanding achievement.
"This is an experience that not many people will ever get to experience, despite the result they can look back at this day with fond memories for many years to come."
