McLaughlin Represents Northern Ireland For First Time Since 2015

30 May 2018

Oldham Athletic’s Ryan McLaughlin featured as a second half substitute during Northern Ireland’s 0-0 draw with Panama.

The 23-year-old was brought on to replace Liam Boyce in the 72nd minute of the game, marking his first appearance for his national side since 2015.

The game was Panama’s final match on home soil before they make their first appearance in a World Cup tournament next month in Russia.

26,000 people packed the Estadio Rommel Fernández in Panama City where kick-off was delayed by 10 minutes due to a number of pre-game ceremonies, including a firework display.

Northern Ireland continue their preparations for the UEFA Nations League and Euro 2020 qualifiers when they take on Costa Rica in San Jose on Sunday.
