LOAN UPDATE: Courtney Duffus

8 November 2018

Striker Courtney Duffus has been on loan at League of Ireland side Waterford FC since March, earlier this year.

He initially joined until June 30, but his time there was extended to November 4, however this end date had to be amended to comply with the opening of the Irish transfer window.

The 23-year-old’s loan period officially comes to an end on Friday, November 30, when then Irish transfer window opens.

Duffus will be unable to play for Oldham Athletic until Tuesday, January 1, 2019 when the UK transfer window opens.

The club will have to obtain international clearance before he can play.

Club Secretary, Richard Cooper said: ““Due to Courtney’s loan being with a club outside of England we will have to await the reopening of the UK transfer window before we can apply for the return of Courtney’s international clearance.

“This is not possible outside of the transfer window, however Courtney will be training with the club but he won’t able to appear in first team fixtures until this is obtained.”

Duffus netted 10 goals in eight appearances during his initial loan at Waterford.

The striker’s last appearance came in a 2-1 defeat to Dundalk on October 12.

He is set to return to the club in the coming weeks to resume training.
