Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) held their annual EFL Girls Cup competition this week, an event which saw Newman College triumph and progress through to the next round.
The yearly tournament, held at Kick Sonic this year, saw six schools from across Oldham come together to participate in the national competition.
The evening was a showcase for some fantastic football, with the large number of teams participating highlighting the growing popularity of female football within the borough.
The schools that took part were: Hulme Grammar, OASIS, Crompton House, Radclyffe, Hathershaw and Newman College.
Dylan Mistry, OACT Women & Girls Lead said: “The EFL Girls Cup was a fantastic event, bringing together girls from across the borough to celebrate girls football through a national competition.
“Thank you to all of the schools that attended and the girls who took part, the event was played with a really positive spirit.
“Through our Premier League Girls delivery and our relationship with Oldham Athletic Girls & Women Football Club, we now have more opportunities for girls throughout the borough to play football than ever before.”
