Latics Proud To Back Rainbow Laces Campaign And Will Show Support All Season Round

23 November 2018

Oldham Athletic football club are proud to support Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign and will continue to back the campaign for equality throughout the course of the season.

Between Saturday November 24 and Saturday December 1, all EFL Clubs will select a fixture to highlight their continued support for LGBT fans, players and staff across the game with rainbow captain’s armbands, laces and programme adverts also being provided to Clubs.

Tuesday’s (November 27) fixture against Lincoln City has been chosen to highlight the cause, however as a club we feel that this is something that shouldn’t just be visible for just one game, but all season round.

To show our support for the LGBT community, we have taken the decision to make our rainbow corner flags a permanent feature for the rest of the season.

Head of Community, Martin Vose said: “Once again we are delighted to show our support for Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.

“We strongly feel that this support for our LGBT fans should be visible throughout the season and showing our solidarity by keeping our rainbow corner flags for the rest of the season is the least we can do.

“We welcome everyone at Boundary Park and we are proud to be an inclusive club.”

Football has the power to bring everyone together, football is everyone's game
