MATCH PREVIEW: Maidstone United vs. Oldham Athletic

30 November 2018

Oldham Athletic are back in action in the Emirates FA Cup as they travel to Maidstone United tomorrow in the Second-Round (3pm).

Latics overcame Hampton & Richmond Borough in the First-Round with a 1-2 win thanks to goals from Rob Hunt and Callum Lang.

Maidstone also won their First-Round game by the same scoreline after beating Macclesfield Town at home.

Frankie Bunn’s men are unbeaten in five games and he is expecting another tough tie tomorrow against Maidstone, but he says the team can dwell on their experiences from the First-Round.

“I think the Hampton game gives the players a really good insight, I don't think we were complacent, and we handled the situation really well that night.” He said.

“It's just important we turn up and it's about us again, if we turn up like I know we have already we’ll be ok, so I'll be expecting the same from the players with this game.”

Latics will be without a number of first team players as Dan Gardner after Tuesday night’s game with Lincoln City was added to the injury list along with Jose Baxter, Zeus De La Paz, Jonathan Benteke and Ousmane Fane.

Ishmael Miller will also be out through suspension and Jordan Lyden could be missing after sitting out that Lincoln game with a minor problem.

Maidstone are currently without a win in three games since beating Macclesfield in the First-Round of the Emirates FA Cup.

They currently sit in 22nd in the Conference National League having won five games in 22 league games so far this season.

Top scorer Blair Turgott could be out after coming off in the weekend’s defeat to Eastleigh with a knee injury.

Simon Walton will also be missing as he serves a one-match ban.

This will be the first meeting between the sides.

Sam Rosbottom and Roy Butterworth will be on commentary on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.
