MATCH PREVIEW: Oldham Athletic vs. Cheltenham Town

23 October 2018

Oldham Athletic are once again in action at Boundary Park tonight as they take on Cheltenham Town in the Sky Bet League Two fixture (7:45pm Kick Off).

Frankie Bunn’s side will be looking to bounce back from the disappointing defeat to Port Vale on Saturday.

Bunn believes his players will show their true character as they look to turn the home form around.

“Every game is a test of character and you could say our away form is outstanding, so we've just got to get a win at Boundary Park as quickly as possible.” He said.

“You want to get that last one behind you, you're only as good as your last game and Tuesday will be that, we'll be well prepared for it and we're looking forward to it.”

Bunn also gave an update on the injury front with striker Sam Surridge expected to be missing for a few weeks with a hamstring injury.

Zeus De La Paz is also a long-term injury problem after he picked up a hamstring injury in training whilst Andy Taylor and Giles Coke are also out.

Ishmael Miller could be back in contention tonight after sitting out Saturday’s game with Port Vale.

The visitors come into tonight’s game off the back of a 1-1 draw away at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.

Michael Duff’s team sit in 22nd place with 10 points from 13 games, but eight of those points have come from their away fixtures.

Cheltenham will be without midfielder Kevin Dawson, who was substituted after just 21 minutes on Saturday with a medial ligament injury.

Striker Tyrone Barnett’s who scored at Forest Green is a doubt with a dead leg.

Sean Long and Aden Baldwin remain the other absentees for Cheltenham, although Tom Field could be back in contention.

The two teams haven’t faced each other since March 2009 which ended in a 1-1 draw thanks to a late Danny Whitaker equaliser.

Latics last beat Cheltenham at Boundary back in August 2008 with a convincing 4-0 win after a hat-trick from Lee Hughes and a Whitaker strike.

Oldham Athletic are priced at 10/11 to beat Cheltenham Town.

Pay on the day is available for Latics supporters with the matchday prices.

Legendary commentator John Helm will be alongside Mike Leyland and Roy Butterworth on iFollow Latics for supporters who cannot make the game.

Oldham Athletic supporters in the UK will be able to watch this evening’s match live for £10 via iFollow Latics.
