Oldham Athletic football club would like to thank the continued support from the loyal travelling fans.
Saturday’s match against Grimsby Town saw 832 Latics fans make the two-hour journey to the east coast the cheer on the side to a 0-3 win.
Manager Frankie Bunn, his staff and players have expressed their thanks for the noise and atmosphere that is created when the team play away from home.
However, it has come to the club’s attention that a minority of supporters acted in an unacceptable manner whilst at Blundell Park.
Oldham Athletic would like to reiterate that pyrotechnics are banned from all football stadiums around the country.
Those supporters who discharged pyrotechnics inside the stadium, endangering the safety of fellow fans, must be aware that this is criminal behaviour which will not be tolerated and that anyone found responsible for such actions will face a banning order from the club.
The club are actively working to eradicate this issue and are working closely with Greater Manchester Police and other football clubs to identify those responsible for discharging pyrotechnics.
So far this season, one supporter has already been issued a banning order for discharging pyrotechnics at Boundary Park.
We are keen to stress this is only a minority of supporters and again, we would like to thank you for your excellent support on Saturday.
