Anthony Backhouse will be the man in charge when Latics take on Colchester United this Saturday at Boundary Park (3pm).
Backhouse last officiated Oldham back in February in the 2-1 home win over Bradford City.
He has officiated eight games so far this season, brandishing 17 yellow cards altogether.
Gary Hilton and Barry Cropp will assist the referee whilst Mark Cunliffe will be the fourth official.
