PL Kicks Cup

Participants from the Oldham Athletic Community Trust PL Kicks project took part in the national PL Kicks Cup this week, held at Warwick University.

In total over 700 young people took part in the competition, representing 65 professional clubs, which saw young people come together to social through the power of football.

On the day Oldham Athletic faced competition from Sunderland (W 5-0), Barnet (W 1-0), Brighton & Hove Albion (D 0-0), Luton Town (D 0-0), Southampton (L 1-0), Manchester City (W 1-0) and Bristol City (L 2-1) which resulted in a 4th place position with a total of 11 points.

The participants were represented Oldham Athletic were students from The Oldham Academy North (TOAN), who displayed an outstanding attitude throughout the day.

Jack Garside, PL Primary Stars Lead, commented: "The team demonstrated a fantastic level of commitment on the day and were a fine example of our three core values (professional, dedicated and inclusive).

"Whilst we didn’t make it through to the next round the boys can be very proud of their efforts and I hope they enjoyed this memorable opportunity."
