Oldham Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of defender David Wheater on a one-year deal with an option.
Wheater began his career with Middlesbrough and he spent seven years with the club where he made 140 appearances, scoring nine goals.
The 32-year-old defender has previously been with Bolton Wanderers and was named their player of the year for the 2016/17 season.
In the same season he was named in the League One Team of the Season as well being named PFA Fans’ Player of the Season.
Last season, Wheater played 33 games in all competitions for the Wanderers.
